When you leave a comment, we collect what you share along with your IP address and browser signature to help identify spam.

We may generate a hashed version of your email to check with Gravatar if you use the service. You can read their privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture appears publicly.

Media

If you're uploading images, please avoid including location data (EXIF GPS). Other users may extract this data from your uploads.

Cookies

By commenting, you can opt to save your name, email, and site in cookies for convenience. These last for one year.

A temporary cookie is set to check browser compatibility with cookies when logging in. It contains no personal info and is deleted when you close your browser.

Login-related cookies stay for two days (or two weeks if "Stay logged in" is checked), and display settings cookies last a year. Logging out deletes all login cookies.

When editing or publishing, a cookie is saved that simply tracks the post ID of the edited article and expires in a day.
